Garnet gets it name from the Latin word malogranatum which means pomegranate. In ancient times it was believed that Garnet was a great protection stone and would be worn often as an amulet to protect from evil and disasters. In the 1500s in the Czech Republic Garnet cutting techniques were perfected and the use of garnet gems in jewelry designs got more popular than ever. You will receive a full strand of beads measuring approximately 16". Each bead measures between 5-7 x 4mm with a hole size of approximately 1mm. Note that these beads have a somewhat organic look and vary in size and shape. Available in a variety of sizes. Multiple strands may be pictured. Each strand is sold individually.
